The world would not be a better place without you

The world would not be better without you. You make someone’s day, every day. You light up a room when you walk into it.

Your friends miss you when you aren’t together, and your family cherishes the time they spend with you.

Your family would be devastated. While their lives would be forced to move forward, not a single day would pass that they wouldn’t think of you. They love you.

You are loved, valued, and wanted. Your life matters. It’s okay to not be okay and your feelings are 100% validated. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.

Losing someone to suicide is in a category of pain like no other. It leaves a hole in our hearts that can never be filled, and it leaves so many questions unanswered. Questions that will never, ever be answers.

The ending of a book that wasn’t finished being written.

Don’t let suicide win, don’t go through it alone and do not let your friends suffer in silence. Let your friends know that they can depend on you.

Encourage them to talk about their feelings.  That can mean talking to you, or a therapist. Don’t be afraid or ashamed of therapy.

Talk about mental health. It doesn’t matter if that’s a topic that makes people uncomfortable. Address it and bring it into the spotlight. Mental health matters.

We live in a time where we should be raising suicide awareness more than even. We can’t ignore the signs, and we can’t pretend like nothing is wrong.

I don’t know what I would do without supportive friends. I want everyone to feel the same way. No one deserves to go through suicidal thoughts alone.

At the same time, invest yourself in God’s word. Lean into Him and pray. Pray in the morning, in the evening, and any time you need to pray throughout the day. He’s always listening and working in our lives.

Better days are coming. It might be hard to see that when it seems like the world is crashing down around us, but it’s true.

The storm will pass. It always has and it always will. Stay here with us to watch it pass.

You are strong. You are winning this fight, and you aren’t fighting it alone. Don’t let suicide win. Don’t finish your story early.
